procrastinating

so instead of doing my project (i was asked to do ten... yes, ten... self-portraits in wash) i end up reading my old xanga entries. 7 years of blogging is a lot to go through. but after reading a couple of entries, so many things are different, so many the same. but mostly the same. but not. i don't know. my pool of close friends is getting smaller and smaller each year. i'm hopeful, yet anxious after i'm done in the summer. i just need to concentrate and make the most of the last experiences i've had while at irvine. since last year, i've always felt an urgency and rush to get out of college because, well, it's about time. but now, i think i'm gonna miss it.

tuesday's coming up... i can't wait. i heart tuesdays and the drama it sometimes brings. all the time.

i used to make some somewhat meaningful and funny posts but i'm just so rusty. in fact, i've run out of things to say. i don't know, "betty crocker"?

What did you do yesterday?] the parents came over our place... we ate at pei wei, got hella groceries, and then spent the rest of the day looking for houses. then, i had a really fun directors dinner @ bj's. woke up for mass, went to mass, drove all the way back to the costco in LA to pick up my glasses, then i crashed at home home. my kuy paul & his family came over (his daughters are adroable!) to drop the jeep off, then me, mama and papa ate dinner. drove back to irvine and then went straight to PCN Senior Suite practice... that was my first practice ever. i hope i catch up. afterwards went home and read/slept. woke up, didn't go to mass. finished my laundry then drove back to irvine. worked on projects for a little bit then went to school. headed the alyansa meeting then went back home to pick up my camera and coat. went to you and i sushi with baucas, mel and sonnyboy. afterwards got gas, went back to the apartment, and spent the rest of the time on AIM.

it looks like its possibly time to put up my shielding again. no one sees this blog anyway, but next time i'll be sure to not take things for granted. i was probably overconfident, or even too slow. maybe i was just led on. i read the signs wrong. i don't know. but whatever happens, happens. and i hope its for the best. i'm tired. i'm just too tired of being the nice guy. if only nice girls didn't just go for guys that only had pretty faces and yet have no personality. i know i'm much better than that. blah blah blah. whine whine whine. regardless, i just don't want to ever go back driving back to LA empty and defeated. it sucks. feeling like shit sucks. being alone sucks.
maybe it sucked for you too, but it really hurt to just imagine what might've went down that night.
but you know what? i'm patient. i'll give it another chance. i'm not gonna give up. 2-3 years ago something like this would ruin my life. i'm old(er) and i'm wiser. girls are human beings too, right?

well, in other news (and to even out the mood), i bought a crapload of cds. hooray for amoeba! i got simple citizens, one of the samurai champloo soundtracks, the new clap your hands say yeah, muse's origins of symmetry cd, thievery corporation, silversun pickup's older ep, the good, the bad, and the queen, and the shins. i was also able to get nujabes' metaphorical music and modal soul too. i only had 10 of his songs but now the collection is more complete.

ALSO, going to the chinatown galleries was fun. at night, there's free alcohol/refreshments AND i saw adam savage from mythbusters there! how cool is that?! and i also saw one of my studio art TA's there as well. awkward.

its good to have the whole family back in LA again. without them i wouldn't have looked at the good side of things - i would've been an emotional wreck the whole day.

i just talked to char recently and i'm glad she's doing okay! anyway, here's a piece from it

i think i'm burning out. this isn't good. i got irritated at karl today. usually i'd just shrug it off but this time i just went offline right after he talked to me. same with extracurriculars - i just didn't want to go to the siap meeting today just because. egh.

i don't want to do my project. its supposed to be in flash, and its supposed to be fun, but i'll procrastinate until i end up doing an all nighter, which has been freakishly common since the beginning of the quarter. i don't think i lasted a week without going through an all nighter. that's probably why i'm feeling a tad (ok, maybe more than a tad) burnt out. i didn't even go to drawing class! and i like going to drawing class! what the hell?

oh, the ataris cd. i don't know, but i kinda don't like it too much. its a different sound. nothing like the older stuff. its a strange sound, but i'll probably have to listen it a couple of more times for me to like.

anyway. maybe i'm just tired. i need to catch up on sleep. but not after i finish my project. damnit.

and food coma was good. brazilian barbeque was tasty. or, i mean, tastey. i got into an argument with my bro to what would be more annoying: spelling "tasty" "tastey" or misusing a word, s.a. "your" and "you're". i get irritated more when people misuse a word. here's others:

Than, Then:
Than is a conjunction used in comparisons; then is an adverb denoting time. That pizza is more than I can eat. Tom laughed, and then we recognized him.

Hints: Than is used to compare; both words have the letter a in them.
Then tells when; both are spelled the same, except for the first letter.

There, Their, They're:

There is an adverb specifying place; it is also an expletive. Adverb: Sylvia is lying there unconscious. Expletive: There are two plums left. Their is a possessive pronoun. They're is a contraction of they are. Fred and Jane finally washed their car. They're later than usual today.

Hints:If you are using there to tell the reader where, both words have h-e-r-e. Here is also a place.
If you are using their as a possessive pronoun, you are telling the reader what
"they own. Their has h-e-i-r, which also means heir, as in someone who inherits something. Both words have to do with ownership.
They're is a contraction of they are. Sound out they are in the sentence and see if it works. If it does not, it must be one of the previous versions.

To, Too, Two:
To is a preposition; too is an adverb; two is a number. Too many of your shots slice to the left, but the last two were right on the mark.

Hints:If you are trying to spell out the number, it is always t-w-o.
Too is usually used as also when adding or including some additional information. Whenever you want to include something else, think of it as adding; therefore you also need to add an extra o.

so there. i said it. i'm a grammar nazi. i don't care. LOL.

humm... i don't vividly remember my first flight, but i'll speculate that it was a trip to san francisco from LA. i was probably 2 or 3 or something like that... probably to meet the family up in daly city. but i think a trip to SF isn't considered a real flight. if that's the case, then it would be the trip to hawaii less than a year afterwards. we went to hawaii for vacation...
